Newer campground with many seasonal campers, though you could not tell. Helpful host and owners were present several times through weekend. Quite campground affords relaxation, within walking distance of Leesville lake, boat ramp and picnic area. Limited game room with pool table, air hockey, several video games and large screen TV. Great location for get-a-way weekend. We will definitely camp here again.
Great campground. Efficiently run operation. Owner enforces rules for the enjoyment of all campers. Road leading to campground is winding and narrow, but large rigs where navigating fine. Sites are shaded and that means trees but we had no problems. WIFI was intermitted but free. Did not take advantage of planned activities but they were provided. New putt-putt course and nice fishing pond. Great base camp for local caverns and close access to JMU. VERY impressed with owners level of involvement. We would definitely camp here again.
Third time camping at this resort. Great value for the $$$. Four units in group, two in older shaded part and two in new part. We prefer the old part because of shade. Some spaces in old part are harder to get into with bigger rigs. The new section provides cement sites with gas grill and outdoor sink at each site...BUT...there is NO shade. Maybe in ten years they will be better sites. Lots of activities for children including pool, game room, putt putt, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, and basketball. You do have to drive or walk to these activities. Resort is very clean and constantly patrolled. If you are a Blue/Green member, I believe the cost is $15/night. Horseback riding is available for additional fee. Campground was almost full this year.
Great campground, conviently located near Civil War battlefields and Washington DC. Used CG as base for visit to both locations. Site number markers could be more visible for campers arriving after dark. Super restrooms and showers. Pool was nice but not heated. Camp store was stocked with basics and plenty of souveniers. The only negative was the lake which has a foul order due to, we assume, lack of water supply. The road into the campground is curvy so be careful. Sites are nice size and wildlife (squirrels and rabbits) were plentiful. We would definitely camp here again, and use as a base for Washington DC visits.
Excellent campground. Friendly and helpful hosts. Hookups were great and electrical voltage level always remained constant. Other amenities such as game room and planned activities were nice. Very close to Charlottesville and other historic sites. We would definitely camp here again.
We camped here for spring break last week in March. Much different than last time we camped here. Less people and staff during "off" season. Campground and restrooms are clean. Though all sites are back-in, hookups are excellent. Do not expect to get good wireless reception at campsites although coffee house has free WiFi. We would definitely stay here again.
Great campground, staff was friendly and pull through sites were nice. Campground is gated which is good for safety, but not good if you forget the entrance card. Limited supplies in store. We were there in November when the season was ending, but it appears they have many activities during busy season. Facility is quite and traffic to a minimum which is good for children and people riding bikes. We would definitely stay here again.
Used campground as base for Hershey/Lancaster trip. We arrived very late and were greeted by staff who showed us to our site. Staff was very nice and knowledgeable. We needed some equipment repair and staff gave me specific directions. The only negative was on check out day. The staff does arrive early to put notices on your vehicle. They sit on carts watching for you to leave.
